Independent Skills Training
Power Tools For Life is Independent Living Skills training designed for youth 16-18 years old. The skills training has been in existence since August 2007 and is designed to teach youth; basic skills, social skills, finances, housing, educational options, and career development. We take a "hands on " approach and involve numerous field trips, practical exercises and incentives.
Our field trips have included visits to colleges, universities, technical schools, military bases, Ferrari dealership, fire department, apartment complex, and numerous job searches. We also provide the training to obtain job placement to include resume writing and mock interviews.
Overall, the goal of Power Tools For Life is to provide these youth the tools needed to lead a healthy and productive life into adulthood upon leaving Power House.
